He was predeceased by: his siblings, George and Diane Griggs; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Supis and Dorothy Kloss. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his sons, Michael (Maureen), David and Kevin Griggs (Devon); his grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Ethan, Synobia, David II, Lorianna, Arden, Kaitlyn and Hailey Griggs; and his sibling-in-law Shirley Higgins (Patrick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home & Cremation Services (11028 SW Hwy, Palos Hills, IL 60465). A prayer was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Germaine Catholic Church (9711 S Kolin Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the St Casimir Catholic Cemetery (4401 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655).
