He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest "Doc" Denton and Norma Eilers Denton; his wife Susie; and his sister Gretchen Denton. He is survived by: his children, Christopher Denton of Pana, IL and Anne Marie Denton Chappelear (Daniel) of Pana, IL; his grandson Weston Chappelear; his brother James Denton; his siblings-in-law, Judy Zimmerman (Max) and Bill Kook (Barb); and his parents-in-law, Tiffany Lech and Logan Anderson. He is also survived by his family, his many close friends.

Memorials in Eric's honor may be made to the Denton Eilers Lech Benevolent Fund and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana who is assisting the family.
