He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles D. Shewey, and Nettie Irene Shewey, Sr. (Newton); and his sister-in-law Nancy Shewey. He is survived by: his stepparents, Franklin Cope, Sr. of Marshall, Illinois and Donna Shewey of Paris; his daughters, Mellissa Hollingsworth Mareski (Eugene) of Gardner and Penny Nichols (David) of Paris; his siblings, Kevin Shewey of Paris, Randy Switzer (Becky) of Brocton, Illinois, Debbie L. Wilson (Bob) of Paris and Karie Beauchamp (Rick) of Paris; his grandchildren, Tosha Mack (Logan) of Wilmington, Goldie Hollingsworth of Gardner and Megan Nichols of Paris; his great grandchild Savannah Mack; and his stepsiblings, Franklin Cope, Jr. and Chana Carter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Templeton Funeral Home - Paris (600 E Court St, Paris, IL 61944).
