She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredie Medlin and Dolores Medlin (Long); her son Mitchell Avery Barnes; her brother James Medlin; and her grandson Bryan Austin Barnes.
She is survived by: her sons, Jason Chad Edwards (Melissa) of Glendale and Neil Jacob Barnes; her siblings, Steven Medlin of Washington, David Medlin of Paris and Judy Nichols of Paris; and her grandchildren, Jessica Barnes, Mariah Sandiford (Barnes), Logan Barnes, Sadie Barnes, Xiana Edwards, Jade Barnes, Zoe Barnes, Kylea Compton (Barnes) and Justin Beaulieu. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
