John W. Carnahan Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Carnahan of Paris, Illinois, who passed away on August 18, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester W. Carnahan and Mary Alice Carnahan (Hall); his wife Vickie E. Smitley; his son Shawn Carnahan; his grandson Dakota Bauchman; and his siblings, Wayne Carnahan, Wanda Donaldson, Viola Banet, Barbara Mattingly and Carol Drake.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jerri Soderstrom of Davenport and Denise Carnahan (Danny Jones) of Payson, Arizona; his sisters, Edith Emrick of Paris and Nila Nugent of Paris; and his grandchildren, Johnny Green, Tori Mitchum, Colten, Isaac Bierman, Nathan, Jamie, Mary and Katelynn Carnahan. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
