Karen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Cook and Ethel Cook (Abston); her husband Dennis Hurst; and her sisters, Marjorie Kennedy and Pat Boots.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Hurst of Paris and Sandra Bogard of Paris; her grandchildren, Krystyna Bogard (Nate) of Paris, Dylan Bogard (Mikaila) of Ansbach, Kendall Hurst (Landen) of Paris and Parker Hurst of Paris; and her great grandchildren, Addison Powell, Peyton Lawlyes and Patrick Bogard. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Templeton Funeral Home - Paris (600 E Court St, Paris, IL 61944). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Alzheimer's research or Transitions Hospice.
