With sadness, we share the passing of Vera C. Pratt (Paris, Illinois). Vera, born on October 8, 1921, passed away on October 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Carpenter and Cora Carpenter (Wilson); her former husbands, Orville "Dock" Brinkley and Earl Pratt; her husbands, Bill (Iris Carpenter), Vernon Rice (Mary) and Frank Hodges; her niece Carole Rice; and her great-niece Jann Conley.
She is survived by: Elizabeth, Steve Redman and Charles Carpenter. She is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Charleston Bible Church. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Mound Cemetery.
