He was predeceased by: his parents, George Athanasopoulos and Anastacia Athanasopoulos. He is survived by: his sister Spyridoula (Roula); his wife Andriana Kapsis (Ann); his children, Anastacia (Stacie), Angela (Kiki), Stacie, Kiki (Mike) and George; his grandsons, Christopher and Andrew; his sister Roula (Chris); and his siblings-in-law, John and Kathy (Dean). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church (2350 E Dempster St, Des Plaines, IL 60016). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at the Maine Cemetery (2101 W Touhy Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068).
