He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gillespie and Mary Gillespie; and his brother James Patrick Gillespie. He is survived by: his sister Mary Ellen Zimmers (John); and his nephew Frank Zimmers (Karolina).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cooney Funeral Service (625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL 60068). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at 4432 N Troy St, Chicago, IL 60625. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at the Maryhill Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
