Joseph Carmen Scarpelli Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Carmen Scarpelli of Park Ridge, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 10, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ercole Scarpelli and Emilia Scarpelli (Mazzuca); his former wife Carole (Cutro); his siblings, Frank Scarpelli and Elizabeth Smeriglio; his brothers-in-law, Rocco Smeriglio and Donald Paiser; and his friends, Ralph Capparelli (Cora) and Bruce Pearson.

He is survived by: his stepchildren, Eric Sanders (Kimberly), Audrey Ulrich (Frank) and Russel Sanders (Claire); his wife Louise Scarpelli (Hyzny-Sanders); his children, Nick Scarpelli (Melissa), Ernie Scarpelli and Joanne Scarpelli (Park Ridge); his grandchildren, Robert Scarpelli (RJ), Jake Scarpelli, Joseph Scarpelli and Genevieve Scarpelli (Gigi); his sister Sylvia Paiser; his sister-in-law Janet Scarpelli; and also, Holly, Kurtis, Lukas, Sarah Sanders, Steven Fiske, Jeff Ulrich (Jen), Alexander Ulrich, Julie Davis (John) and Abigail Harris (Nathan).

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at 8:00 PM at the Cooney Funeral Home (625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL 60068). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul of the Cross Church (320 S Washington Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068).
