He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mary J. Valentine; his children, Michael Valentine (Eileen), Mary Jo Carroll and James Valentine (Mary); his grandchildren, John Carroll (Caitlin), Sean Valentine, Matthew Carroll, Kaitlin Valentine and Dennis Valentine; his great grandchildren, Jack, Quinn and Lainie Carroll; and his sisters, Dorothy Riffner (Peter) and Diane Lando (Eugene).
