He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanne; his son Michael (Mary Kelly); his siblings, Thomas (late Mary Lou), Mary O'Keeffe (late Jack), Jack (late Lynne) and James (Julie); and his parents, Paddy Flaherty and Kate Flaherty.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Jeanne Butera (Ron), Patrick (Imelda), John (Peggy) and Bridget Dwyer (Jerry); his sister Nancy Erskine (late Michael); and his sister-in-law Mary Dillon Schwab.

In lieu of flowers, donations to IAHC boiler fund.
