He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville "Dutch" E. Blum and Mary F. Fischer Blum. He is survived by: his wife Linda Blum of Pawnee; his sons, Stephen D. Blum (Shannon) of Chatham and Neil A. Blum of Springfield; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Logan; and his siblings, Gary E. Blum (Gerry) of Beardstown and Karen Osborn (Mark) of Hillsboro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
