He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Palmer and Vecie Laverne Thompson Benear; and his wife Sue. He is survived by: his children, Bonita Pope (Christian) of Marshall and Dale Benear (Debby) of Paxton; his grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan Pope, Dustin, Nathan Benear, Taya DeMicco (Tyler) and John Calderella; and his great grandchild Luca DeMicco.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Baier Family Funeral Services (406 E Pells St, Paxton, IL 60957). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (401 Glenwood Dr, Rantoul, IL 61866).
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Rantoul, Paxton Fire Department or to the family to be donated to charity.
