With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carol Ann Appell of Pekin, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred L'Ecluse and Julia L'Ecluse (Mucheikis); and her brothers-in-law, Tom Hannon and Rick Appell. She is survived by: her husband Curt; her children, Brent Appell (Kay) of Pekin, IL, Mike Appell (Teresa) of Louisville, KY and Michelle Appell (Lora Grgich) of Minneapolis, MN; her sisters, Jan Foffel (John) of Sugar Grove, IL and Kathy Hannon of Springfield, IL; her pet Tarloo; and her grandchildren, Nicholas Appell (Tarynn), Benjamin Appell, Katie Branch (Kelsey), Hailee Elliott (Matthew) and Hannah Quick (Brennon). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home (a place that was especially dear to Carol as both a hospice nurse and volunteer), or simply plant a beautiful flower.
