Carol Jean McCabe Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carol Jean McCabe of Pekin, Illinois, who passed away on January 31, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Carol may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Carol touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Hasty and Ada Gray; her husbands, Robert L. Vetter and Keith McCabe; and her children, Connie K. Phillips and Dan M. Vetter.
She is survived by: her sons, David L. Vetter (Kathy) of Pekin and Roger A. Vetter (Janet) of Griggsville, Illinois; and her sister Donna Mitchell of Pekin, Illinois. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren.
