He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Seelye and Pearl Seelye (Azbell); his wife Shirley Seelye; his daughter Karla Seelye; and his brother Marvin Seelye.

He is survived by: his sons, Scott Seelye (Paula) of Lorena, Texas, Bill Seelye (Meagan) of Pleasanton, Texas, Josh Seelye (Brandee) of Brimfield, Illinois and Jason Seelye of St. Charles, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Billy, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Noah, Austin, Bailee, Madison, Connor, Tanner, Wyatt, Parker, Kendall and Payton; and his great grandchildren, Owen and Cora.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory (2131 Velde Dr, Pekin, IL 61554). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM and at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial donations may be made in Darrell's name to Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org), Whitney's Walk for Suicide Prevention and Awareness, or the Illinois River Valley.
