He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Murray and Mildred Murray (Gearian); his stepfather Ernest Carpenter; his daughter Kristine Cilella; his grandchildren, Bo Brock and Tyler Murray; and his sister Kay Gess.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Hatfield; and his children, Deb Brown of Pekin, Rose McKay of Pekin, Sandy Kline of Pekin, Monica Walker (Mike) of East Peoria, Amy Schaeffer of Washington, Charles McKay of Pekin, Kevin Murray (Star) of Pekin and Kendall Chandler of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
