He was predeceased by: his parents, George L. Massey and Myra Massey (Cuttrell); his wife C. Joann Christianson; his siblings, Kenneth, George Jr., James, Edna, Katherine and Eudene; his half-sister Rose Marie; and his son-in-law John Skaggs.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Skaggs (late John) of Coal City, IL, Richard Massey (Chris) of Pekin, IL and Scott Massey (Teresa) of Pekin, IL; his grandchildren, Mary Essary (Adam), John Skaggs, Michael Skaggs (Nina), David Skaggs (Erin), Suzanne Powell (Brian), Elizabeth Nevius (Trey), Ian Massey, Nicholas Massey (Christel Brewer), Allison Massey, Rachael Wyman (Mike) and Ryan Massey (Kammy); and his half-sister Bettye Estes of Lebanon, TN.. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church (2223 Sheridan Rd, Pekin, IL 61554). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at the Glendale Memorial Gardens (18119 IL-9, Pekin, IL 61554).
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
