He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. McCoy and Helen M. McCoy (Fisher); his son James Alan McCoy; and his sister Sharon Ann McCoy. He is survived by: his spouse Karon S. Backes; his children, Dina Livengood of Kempner, Texas and Scott McCoy of Pekin; his grandchildren, Chelsea Krejci (Adam) of Edwards, Jessica Fargher (Bill) of Mapleton, Brittany Konarik (Ronnie) of Coppers Cove, Kayleigh Shuffler (Dustin) of Kempner, Nicholas McCoy (Taylor) of East Peoria, Logan McCoy (Alise Williams) of East Peoria and Caitlin McCoy (Cole Bortell) of Green Valley; and his sister Barbara George of Pekin. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory (500 N 4th St, Pekin, IL 61554). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
