We announce the death of Nancy Mae Higham of Pekin, Illinois, who passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 85. Nancy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Nancy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Nancy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Nancy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Staples and Ernestine Staples; her grandparents, George C. and Mae E. Higginbotham; her former husband Jon P. May; her husband William A. Higham; and her half-brothers, Dale Mustered, Harry Mustered and Donald Mustered.
She is survived by: her stepsons, Kim Higham (Kathy) of Pekin, Tim Higham (Sue) of DeKalb and Todd Higham (Annette) of Allen, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory (500 N 4th St, Pekin, IL 61554). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
