He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard A. Jacobs and Thelma Melbarine "Mel" Jacobs (Henderson); and his sister Thelma Joanne Svendsen. He is survived by: his wife Joyce M. Hilst; his children, Anita Ryan (Tim) of Lake Villa and Richard E. Jacobs of Pekin; his grandsons, Timothy, Mackenzie and Sean; and his sisters, Sandra Bressner (John) of East Peoria and Joyce Wade (Gene) of Nixa, Missouri..
