He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gardner and Ethel Gardner (Gordon); his son Andrew Gardner; and his sister Jean Bolen. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Utter-Broughton of Pekin; his daughter Terri Pogioli (Mike) of Pekin; his stepsons, Jason Broughton (Amanda) of Pekin and Jon Broughton (Hayley) of Sebeka, MN; his grandsons, Evan Pogioli and Carter Pogioli; his stepgrandchildren, Emiley Pogioli, Katie Pogioli, Anthony Pogioli, Isabelle Broughton, Adin Broughton, Kera Broughton, Miya Broughton and Owen Broughton; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jaxson Pogioli, Evelynn Pogioli, Vincent Newsome, Eloise Pogioli and Cyrus Pogioli; and his sister-in-law Donna Turner of Grand Berry, TX.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory (2131 Velde Dr, Pekin, IL 61554). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS, Vitas Hospice, or Alzheimer's Association.
