He was predeceased by: his father Alphonso, Sr. Lyons; and his grandchildren, Jeremiah Hayes, Deshaun Hayes of Jazmine, Ivy and Brandon Grant.

He is survived by: his mother Ellora Lyons (Derrick) of Peoria, IL; his former wife Cheryl G. Green; his child Devan Lyons; his great grandchildren, Jeremiah Mudd and Julissia Mudd; his wife Charlene Lyons; his children, Devon Lyons of Peoria, IL, Frank Coates of Peoria, IL, Willie Coates of Peoria, IL, Crystal Grant of Peoria, IL and Danielle Lyons of Atlanta, GA; and his siblings, Michael Lyons of San Francisco, CA, Don Lyons (Annie) of Goose Creek, SC, Curtis Lyons of Kansas City, MO, Charla Fleming (James) of Peoria, IL, Cheryll Boswell (Keith) of Peoria, IL and Ruthi Lyons of Peoria, IL. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends.
