He was predeceased by: his parents, John Templin and Lucie Templin (Boettger); his wife Marta Vonachen; and his siblings, Gertrude Otterstrom, Martha Bolles, William, Louis, Herman, Arthur and Paul Templin.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Angell (Jim) of Peoria, David Templin (Lisa) of Washington and Daniel Templin (Kristal) of Sycamore, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Ashley Krull (Jordan), Megan Connor (Jacob), Noah, Hannah, Erin and Luke Templin; and his great grandchild Theodore Krull.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (3601 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria, IL 61604). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bernie and Marta Vonachen Templin Fund at the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, which will support healthcare to populations in need in the Peoria area.
