He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jefferson Lashley, Sr. and Mamie Catherine Lashley (Rodgers); and his brother Jerry Lashley (Sheela) of Muscle Shoals, AL.. He is survived by: his wife Alice Faye Lashley (Grant); his children, Jeffrey Lashley (Shelly) of Peoria, Jonathan Lashley (Carie) of Peoria and Adina Ritzi (Kevin) of Peoria; his siblings, Lynda Long (Sterling) of Belzoni, MS, Dianne Odom (Jimmie) of Richland, MS, Mary Ellard (Wesley) of Greenville, MS, Peggy Kennedy of California and Dennis Lashley (Sheila) of Greenville, MS; and his grandchildren, Madalynn, Maranda, McKenzie, Kendra and Keilani. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Even through serious illness, heart attacks and COVID-19, he continued to teach, pray, encourage, and speak life.
