He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Johnson and Letha Mae Johnson (Smith); his son Joel Johnson; and his foster son Ralph Wrightner Stuckey. He is survived by: his son Jonathan "Jon" Johnson, Sr. of Westmont, IL; his grandsons, Roderick "Rod" Jordan of Peoria, IL, Daniel Billberry (Elizabeth) of Chula Vista, CA and Kenton Young of California; and his siblings, Willie Johnson of Greenville, MS and Bernice Johnson of Detroit, MI. He is also survived by great grandchildren, foster children, nieces, nephews, other family, his church family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, Star of Hope Full Gospel Church.
