It is with sadness that the passing of Caroline Lewis Mehlenbeck of Peoria, Illinois is shared. Caroline, born on June 16, 1944, passed away on August 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Caroline will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Caroline by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Caroline is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Caroline’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Williard Deming Lewis and Marian Carter Chapman; her husband William Mehlenbeck; her sisters, Mimi, Catherine and Constance; and her son John Carter Canterbury.
She is survived by: her son Clay Deming Canterbury (Kimberly) of Maine; and her sister Linda Lewis of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
