Carrie Erving Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carrie Erving of Peoria, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 13, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Lewis and Susie Lewis (Poe); her spouse Christervill "Sonny" Erving; her daughters, Sherry Brown and Gladys Marie Brown; and her siblings, Jeff Poe, Willie Lewis, Albert Lewis, Will Lewis, E. C. Lewis, Annice Lewis and Linda Wilder.

She is survived by: her children, Tia Poole (Lester) of Altus, OK and Tommy Lewis of Peoria; her goddaughters, Brenda Cattledge of Houston, TX and Rashonda Austin of Memphis, TN; her brothers, Johnny Poe of Chicago, Elton Lewis (Jessie) of Chicago, Eddie Lewis (Erline) of Peoria and Jack Martin (Ruthie) of Shaw, MS; her grandchild Tanisia Broomfield of Peoria; her great grandchild Kengston Wilson of Peoria; and her friend Edward Walton of Peoria. She is also survived by grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Parks Colonial Chapel (201 N MacArthur Hwy, Peoria, IL 61605). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
