With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clarence Mason Sr. of Peoria, Illinois, born in Gunnison, Mississippi, who passed away on October 19, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his spouse Freddie Butler; his siblings, Elizabeth Johnson, Barbara Brooks, Johnny Lee Brown and Ray Mason; and his granddaughter Valonte Mason-Cooper.

He is survived by: his close friend Maxine Boles of Peoria, IL; his children, Kinnie Butler (Jennifer) of Peoria, IL, Clarence Mason, Jr. (Gloria) of Rosedale, MS, Terry Mason (Glenda) of Atlanta, GA, Detrick Harper (Angela) of Peoria, IL, Ricky Williams of Memphis, TN, Terrence Herron of Peoria, IL, Jessie Drummer (David) of Rosedale, MS, Jennise Williams of Memphis, TN and Panja Thomas of Decatur, IL; his stepson Eli Butler of Rosedale, MS; his siblings, Willie Mason of Peoria, IL, William Brown (Ida) of Peoria, IL, James Mason (Duran) of Peoria, IL, Michael Williams of Peoria, IL, Jerry Dean Page of Peoria, IL, Silvie Hill (Charles) of Peoria, IL and Sadie Banks of Peoria, IL; his uncle James Wells of Kansas City, MO; and his aunts, Mary Lee Wells-Peterson of Kansas City, MO and Bertha Wells of Santa Monica, CA. He is also survived by his family and friends.

In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them).
