He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Skender and Matilda "Tillie" Skender (Grzanich); and his brothers, Stanley and John E. Skender. He is survived by: his wife Mariann Snyder; his children, Kimberly Waldon (James) of Peoria and David Skender (Kelly) of Metamora; his grandchildren, Heather Powers (Ryan) of Morton, Andrew Rose of Peoria, Alec Skender of Phoenix, Ethan Skender (Madison Dusek) of West Peoria, Payton Skender (Joe Osicki) of Cleveland and Morgan Rassi (Braden) of Morton; his great grandchildren, Liberty, Hope Powers and Bennett Rassi; and his sister Nancy Medendorp (Brian) of Peoria. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Dementia Society of America.
