Devear Peters Sr. Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 27, 2025, at the age of 61, Devear Peters Sr. (Peoria, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Devear departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Devear. Though Devear may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his father Ira Ross Reddick; and his sister Mechelle Reddick. He is survived by: his mother Bertha Peters; his sons, Lonnie LaVar Butler of Peoria and Devear "Duke" Peters Jr. of Chicago, IL; his sister Faye Peters-Harris of Milwaukee, WI; his brother-in-law Robert Harris of Milwaukee, WI; and his nephews, Breon Wilson and Damairus Reddick. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and -nephews, and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Parkview Cemetery (2001 N University St, Peoria, IL 61604).
