He was predeceased by: his parents, Sydney H. Rice and Loraine K. Rice (Middleton); his former spouse Stefani Mydza; and his sisters, Nell Dicken, Mary Burch and Phyllis Crandall.
He is survived by: his wife Sally Shane; his sister Connie Siemer of Reynoldsburg, OH; and his pet Hoot. He is also survived by niece in Switzerland and a niece in Liechtenstein, two nieces and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peoria Humane Society.
