He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Bauwens and Marie Bauwens (Lewis). He is survived by: his wife Linda Bauwens (Huffman); his daughters, Sue Mellen (Chris) and Sheila House (Russell) of Washington, IL; his grandchildren, Lisa Weybright (Tom) of Washington, Jason Mellen (Victoria) of Madison, WI, Abigail Anderson (Erik) of Washington, Allison Schumacher (Jonathan) of Mishawaka, IN and Andrea Herrick (Jason) of Washington; his great grandchildren, Addison, Kellan Weybright of Washington, Nicholas, Michelle Mellen of Madison, Jayce Anderson of Washington, Annette, Aubriella and Cassiel Schumacher of Mishawaka; and his brother Joseph Bauwens (Pat) of Peoria.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lariat Club (2232 W Glen Ave, Peoria, IL 61614).
