He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Dixon and Roosevelt Boyd, Sr.; his wife Dorothy Blakes; his daughter LaTasha Blakey; and his siblings, Bobby Boyd, Henry Boyd, Lee Boyd, Sr., James Dixon, Donnell Dixon, Catherine Boyd, Lenora Mitchell and Glenda Boyd.

He is survived by: his daughter Angie McGee of Milwaukee, WI; his sisters, Vancie Boyd of Peoria, IL, Martha Dixon of Peoria, IL, Betty Dixon of Peoria, IL, Jeanette Jackson (Reggie) of Peoria, IL, Mary Boyd Pates of Chicago, IL, Annette Boyd of Kenosha, WI and Dorothy Boyd Role of Kenosha, WI; and his stepchildren, Shelisa Jackson of Peoria, IL, Shirette Williams of Peoria, IL, Johnny Jackson of Peoria, IL and Jermaine Jackson of Peoria, IL. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to Covid-19, social distancing is encouraged to be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them).
