He was predeceased by: his parents, James Holmes and Roslynn Holmes; his children, Dennis Holmes, Kent Nunley and Trena Counterman; and his grandson Charlie Holmes.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Nancy E. Kleiber; his children, Randy Holmes, Debra Holmes-Simpson (Robert), Wendy Stevens, Tammy Scroggins, Jim Holmes (Chris), Thomas Holmes (Heather) and Johanna Jones; and his grandchildren, Jared, Christopher, Nathaniel, Stephanie, Jamie, Jordan, Jimmy, Frances, Louis, Moselle, Amber, Nicholas, David, Marco, Norman, Wesley, Zachary, Nancy, Megan, Jennifer, Troy, Mandy, Michelle, Kory and Joshua. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
