It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James William Walton Sr. of Peoria, Illinois, born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, who passed away on April 29, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Walton and Johnella Walton (Loggins); his siblings, Oliver Walton and Marie McAfee; and his grandson DeMarco Nichols.
He is survived by: his children, James Walton, Jr. of Marietta, GA, Jermaine Walton of Sacramento, CA, Sheila Walton of Greenville, SC and Michelle Walton-Jackson of Easley, SC; and his siblings, Aaron, Jr. Walton (Linda Williams) of Peoria, IL, Tracy Walton of Clarksdale, MS, Alfred Walton of Clarksdale, MS, Gloria Taylor of Peoria, IL and Louvenia Moore of Peoria, IL.
Due to Covid-19, social distancing is encouraged to be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them).
