He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Messmore and Pauline Messmore; his sister Loretta Agee; and his son Daniel Messmore. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Butler; his son Joe; his daughter-in-law Jamie Messmore; his granddaughters, Scarlett and Audrey Messmore; and his brother Ed Messmore of Peoria.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (6001 N University St, Peoria, IL 61614). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
