She is survived by: her daughters, Sherry A. Powell (Curtis) of Peoria, Jennie R. Thomas (Reginald) of Peoria and Sandra L. Powell of Valley Village, California.; her siblings, Jessie M. Powell of Ruleville, Mississippi, Stella Powell of Gunnison, Mississippi, Diana Risby (Lloyd) of Peoria, Illinois., Juanita Powell of Peoria, Illinois. and Shelley Williams of Peoria, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Thelonious Thomas of Chicago, Amari Thomas of Peoria, Illinois and Langston Thomas of Peoria, Illinois; and her great grandchild David Whitfield. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church (1505 W Martin St, Peoria, IL 61605). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
