She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Noel and Mary Roos (Hopson); her husband James T. Thurmond; her grandson Shea Shaterlee; and her sister Nancy Houge.
She is survived by: her sons, Carl Hess (Trena Brewer) and Marty Kern III (Melissa); and her grandchildren, Cody Kern (Tori), Chelsea Nachtrieb (Brendan), Corrine Kern, Connor Kern and Zoey Hess. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel (2021 N University St, Peoria, IL 61604). A burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parkview Cemetery (2001 N University St, Peoria, IL 61604).
