He is survived by: his siblings, Karen Bruess (Mary Chval) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kenneth Bruess of Protivin, IA, Linda Lechtenberg (Rich) of New Hampton, IA, Jean Ann Bruess (Dean Rue) of Madison, WI and Chuck Bruess (Angie) of Trivoli, IL; his sister-in-law Jill Bruess; his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Sam Lechtenberg, Megan Nesvik (Jeff), Chas Bruess (Sami), Chris, John Bruess and Jalynn Roberts (Tanner); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alice, Colton Bruess, Calvin and Nora Nesvik; his cousin Dennis "Bubs" Bruess; and his mother LaVerne Sabelka Bruess of Cresco, IA.
