She was predeceased by: her parents, P. James Scherer and Charlotte Scherer (Morrissey); her husband Michael L. Rowan; and her brothers, David James Scherer and Philip Joseph Scherer.

She is survived by: her daughters, Melissa Ann Rowan and Emily Marie Rowan; her siblings, Robert John Scherer and Victoria Ann Bradbury (Scherer); her sister-in-law Carol Jean Scherer (Edwards); and her nieces and nephews, Jason Scherer (Jaimie), Stephanie Scholl, Elizabeth Brown (Anthony), Christina Darby (Shawn), Robert Gay, Erin Pyne (Dan), Matthew Bradbury (Nora) and Laurel Strejc (Caleb). She is also survived by her family, friends, co-workers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
