He was predeceased by: his parents, Cuen Rhymes and Eva Rhymes (Chandler); and his siblings, Raphel Rhymes, Castel Rhymes, Loyd D, Clayton Rhymes (John Thomas) of Army Rhymes, J. T., Willie Lee, Miller Qualls, Reola Hardge, Madie Johnson and Rosie Lee Johnson.
He is survived by: his adoptive son Theodore D. Johnson (Teawana); his siblings, Zenobia Russell and Bobby Jack Rhymes (Marvella); his grandchildren, Dniko Johnson, Jamal Johnson, Tyjuan Brown and Latoya Hightower; his great grandchildren, Avaia Johnson, Kensley Ellis, Kendal Patterson, Keon Patterson and Kaiden Hightower; and his goddaughters, Elishira Roddy (Nene), Vernise Marshall, Paula Rhymes, Shalonda Bradley, Mary Cartledge Moore and Ophelia Lomack. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and brothers and sisters.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rising Sun Chistian Church.
