He is survived by: his wife Candace; his children, Frances Keyster (Mark) of Pekin, Eddie Ping (Patricia) of London Mills, Angelia Neeley (Dustin) of Morton, Erika Deppermann (Tony) of Hanna City and Robert Crump Jr. of Tennessee; and his siblings, Sue Shelabarger of Arizona, Russell and Charles Crump of Peoria. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Recognized for his smooth and deliberate style behind the wheel of the familiar No. 40 car, his greatest contribution to racing was as a car builder for racers throughout the Midwest and South.
