It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert G. Shanks of Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brother Tom Shanks. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Shanks (Erin) of Peoria and Jonathan Shanks (Mindy) of Texas; his grandchildren, Amelia Shanks, Emma (Shanks), Ayrika Davis, Ciera Shanks, Jennifer Shanks, Kayla Rios (Manuel), Megan Shanks, Josey Shanks, Layna Shanks, Kellie Shirey (Eric), Samantha Collins, Jackson Fabia Jr. and Kamden Richie; his sisters, Janice Hagen (Jim), Cindy Quigley (John) and Barb Gibbs (Tim); and his sister-in-law Mary Shanks. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
