Saydeh Alwan Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Saydeh Alwan of Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on March 2, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Youssef Romanus and Mariam Lahood Romanus; her spouse Gerges Antonios Alwan; and her children, Marie Alwan (late Youssef), Wadad Salem (late John), Antoun Alwan (Karmita), Souad Sous (Lahoud), Bishop Hanna Alwan, Henri Alwan (Teresa), Eva Garrabrant (Jim) and Janet Rocke (Craig). She was also cherished by her 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Even in her final years, after time had taken a toll on her body and the pandemic prevented her from attending church, she devoted the rest of her days to prayers, reciting the Rosary, and sharing in the Divine Liturgy through technology.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "FBO Saydeh Alwan Memorial Fund" established at CEFCU.
