Shirley Godar Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on December 11, 2025, at the age of 92, Shirley Godar of Peoria, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Shirley leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert McCollum and Lucille Schmidt McCollum; and her sons, James Godar and Thomas Godar. She is survived by: her husband John Dean Godar; her children, Lucy Mumaw (Bill) of Springfield, MO, Linda Brickner of Groveland, IL and Richard Godar of Morton, IL.; her daughter-in-law Linda Godar of St. Peters, Missouri.; and her granddaughter Sarah Wilkinson of Groveland. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, whose care meant so much to Shirley and her family.
