With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Oppe of Peoria, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shirley left this world on January 12, 2026 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, E. Delbert Belford and Charlotte Belford (Eckley); her husband Eldon Paul Oppe of Mary's Cathedral; and her son David Michael. She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Bowen (Terry) of Pekin, IL, Karen Schotthofer (Rick) of Chillicothe, IL, Cindy Oppe of Milwaukee, WI, Angie Osten (Tom) of Rochester, MN and Becky Talaga (Ed) of Grand Rapids; and her sister Barb Zachman of Pekin, IL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
A graveside service will follow the luncheon at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, (2105 W. Heading Ave. West Peoria.) In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (make checks payable to them at P.O. Box 1999, Memphis TN 38101) , Holy Family Parish or The Franciscan Friars.
