He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Birkett and Betty Birkett; and his siblings, Barb Quenon, Becky Hurd and Tim Birkett.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela; his sons, Jacob Birkett (Kellie) of Murfreesboro, NC and Thad Birkett (Katie) of Bartonville; and his sister Tobie Mullen (Steve). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
