He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Lawless and Mary Lawless (Rentsch); his wife Barbara Elaine Jensen; his son Jeffrey Lawless; his sister-in-law Carolyn Unger (Dave); and his nephews, Mike Eastman and Charlie Stoebner.

He is survived by: his children, Steven Lawless (Catherine) of Peoria, David Lawless (Sue) of Chicago and Debbie Koller (John) of Mahomet; his siblings, Leslie Lawless (Phyllis) of Omaha, NE, Mary Cross (Bill) of Indianapolis, IN, Jane Eastman (Darell) of Peoria and Mike Lawless (Kay) of Peoria; his brother-in-law Alan Jensen (Robyn) of Tucson, AZ.; his grandchildren, Johnny, Mickey, Tommy, Stephanie Lawless, Jack, Luke, Ryan Koller and Hanna Fisher Lawless; and also Amy Lawless (Ken Klivickis) of Glen Ellyn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Memorials may be made to H2O Adaptive Sports in honor of his son Jeffery.
